My name is Daphne Swart (40). With a background in both neuropsychology and clinical psychology, I have knowledge about brain functioning and brain disorders, as well as the treatment of psychological issues. I’m often reminded of the value of this combination, both in this practice and in rehabilitation and nursing home care where I’ve worked since 2011. It is with this background and experience that I’m able to support a wide variety of individuals, from adolescents to elderly people with dementia and their caregivers.
Helping people and understanding the complexity of the human mind are the primary driving forces in my work. I believe it’s essential for individuals to feel comfortable discussing their psychological problems openly. I am eager to assist you in identifying the cause of your issues and working towards finding a solution. Often, it feels like I am guiding the way to recovery, and I notice that over time, I can take on the role of an observer as someone begins to feel better. Figuratively, I might walk ahead initially to show the way, then beside you, and eventually behind you when things improve.
